Job Summary
The Information Systems IT Specialist V position’s scope of responsibility includes; develop, publish, and maintain data metrics for the Student Information System in alignment with division initiatives, data governance standards, and information security protocols for leadership across the division. As a collaborative member of the Enterprise system team and direct report to the SIS Database Administrator this position is responsible with conducting system testing, debugging, issue tracking and resolution as well as implementing system modifications, developing new functionalities, data integration, importing and exporting processes.
As a member of the Enterprise Team, this position will collaborate with division personnel, product managers, and end users, to identify and document both business and technical requirements for Synergy Analytics dashboards and data analysis. Gathering information on reported issues and addressing when possible. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting the Enterprise team in the oversight and instruction of all division registrars, data entry associates, attendance associates and other positions as needed. This position will also assist in special projects for Division purposes as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshooting and analyzing user's concerns: Troubleshoot and analyze user concerns by gathering relevant data to address issues and assist team members with more complex problems, supporting all division users. These support functions encompass all division users. Particular attention will be paid in analyzing, correcting, and working with Registrars, Data Entry, and Attendance Associates as well as the WJCC Home School. Data integrity, rule adherence, security permissions and timeliness of data entry will be emphasized to help ensure accuracy in local, state, and federal reporting
- Responds promptly to all items assigned in the division ticketing/helpdesk system and provides timely updates for each ticket as assigned tickets have a change in status.

Troubleshoot and assist parent concerns with ParentVue: Assisting parents in the use of ParentVue. Troubleshoot difficulties with the use of, and access of, ParentVue app — both desktop and mobile versions.

Assists in training of all division users in the use of the product: Provide focus-driven training, either in groups or individually, to division personnel in module operations that are specific to their duties. May be required to go onsite to fulfill needs. Develop and maintain technical documents, user guides, and video tutorials.

Systems Setup: Assists DBA in developing, testing, and rolling out new system functionalities. Collaborate with division personnel, product managers, and end users, to identify and document both business and technical requirements for dashboards and data analysis. Performs data import/exports.

Regression testing of upgrades: Regression testing of Synergy upgrades, with particular attention to Discipline, Attendance, Online Registration, Synergy Analytics, and Multi-Tier System of Support modules, ensuring a smooth transition for all end users. This position assists DBA with quality control and gap analysis, gathering and defining business and technical requirements.

Synergy Analytics: This position will collaborate with division personnel, product managers, and end users, to identify and document both business and technical requirements for Synergy Analytics dashboards and data analysis.
- Grid Zones, Transportation, and Registration: This position will assist in verifying student enrollment demographics as entered by the registrars are in appropriate zones and jurisdictions within the district.

Report Preparation and Analysis: This position will assist with query design and data collection to help with various offices and assisting the DBA as well as the division state reporter. Develop ad-hoc reports for operational, academic, and administrative staff.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Must be comfortable in performing repetitive, sometimes mundane tasks as well as being able to quickly switch from one task to another as situations warrant. Must be comfortable working alone, as well as in front of groups of people. Must be able to maintain a highly professional demeanor in sometimes extremely stressful situations. Must be comfortable in instructing other employees in the use of complex/technical equipment and software applications. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to safely climb and work from a step ladder (up to 8 feet) and reach over-head. Must be able to squat and work below desks/tables. Must be able to complete repetitive motions, use a keyboard and/or mouse, and perform repetitive tasks. Must have eye-site and hearing in accordance with DMV regulations to be able to maintain a valid driver’s license. Frequently exposed to electrical shock hazards while working on computers and related equipment.
